Take ownership of an established commercial insurance portfolio in London, with an initial £100,000 income book and further clients being transferred across as the role develops. This is an opportunity for an experienced Commercial Account Executive who enjoys managing client relationships and wants to focus on looking after and developing an existing portfolio rather than starting from scratch.

You'll be joining a well-established, growing insurance broker with an office around 10 minutes' walk from Euston. The business offers a relaxed, flexible working environment, a strong support team and a package of up to £80,000 basic salary, alongside discretionary bonus opportunities.

The opportunity

The position has become available following an internal move, with an existing Account Executive transitioning into a more new business-focused role. You'll gradually take responsibility for their clients, allowing you to build your portfolio in a manageable way.

• An established portfolio from day one: Initially around £100,000 in annual income, with further clients transferred across over time.
• A varied commercial client base: Predominantly general commercial insurance, with a slight bias towards construction-related risks.
• Meaningful client relationships: The London office handles accounts generating approximately £5,000 to £100,000 in annual income, offering plenty of variety and complexity.
• Strong account handling support: Work alongside an established team of Account Handlers and Account Executives, giving you the support to concentrate on client relationships.

Who would suit it?

This is a particularly good opportunity for an established Commercial Account Executive who enjoys the relationship management side of insurance broking and wants to join a business where there is already a portfolio waiting for them.

You'll ideally have:

• Experience as a Commercial Insurance Account Executive, managing and retaining a portfolio of business clients.
• A broad understanding of commercial insurance products, with construction insurance experience beneficial but not essential.
• The confidence to manage relationships with clients generating meaningful levels of annual brokerage income.
• Strong commercial judgement, particularly around renewals, client retention and identifying opportunities within existing accounts.
• A collaborative approach, working effectively with Account Handlers and colleagues to deliver a high standard of service.

You won't be expected to arrive with your own book of business. The priority is finding someone who can look after existing clients, build strong relationships and take on additional responsibility as the portfolio grows.

The package

• Basic salary: Up to £80,000, depending on experience.
• Discretionary bonus: Account Executives currently receive around £20,000, although this is not guaranteed.
• Employee Ownership Trust bonus: Approximately £3,000 annually, subject to the scheme's terms.
• Win-back incentive: 10% bonus opportunity for successfully bringing back former clients, subject to scheme terms.
• Location: Central London, approximately 10 minutes' walk from Euston station.
