SimCorp GAIN Technical Lead (Security Master) | Permanent | US East Coast, UK or India

Only a handful of people in the world have actually worked inside SimCorp GAIN rather than around it. If you're one of them, this is worth ten minutes of your time.

The opportunity

Our client is a global asset manager running one of the longest standing GAIN estates out there. It's around ten years old, heavily customised, and it is the security master for the whole firm. The wider front to back platform is moving onto Aladdin, but GAIN stays at the centre. It sources the data Aladdin can't, and it's how newly acquired investment businesses plug into the group.

That makes it business critical, and they want a permanent, hands on owner for it instead of leaning on vendor consultants. You'll be the technical authority for GAIN in a small team being built around the platform. This is a lead developer seat, not an analyst, BA or project management role.

What you'll be doing

• Owning the GAIN security master end to end: instrument and issuer setup, maintenance and publishing to downstream systems
• Building and configuring in Gain Studio day to day, and using Data Browser to investigate issues and support users
• Managing and tuning data feeds, including Bloomberg bulk files and other vendor sources, plus process context feeds
• Maintaining and extending normalisation, derivation and validation rules on a heavily customised installation
• Integrating GAIN with Aladdin and other downstream consumers, and onboarding data from newly acquired businesses
• Spinning up and maintaining test environments, and adjusting integrations as the landscape changes
• Troubleshooting complex production issues, reviewing configuration and code, and setting the standards the wider team follows
• Working closely with operations, data and technology teams across the US, UK and India

What you'll bring

• 5+ years of genuine hands on SimCorp GAIN (or AIM GAIN) experience. Gain Studio and Data Browser are essential
• Deep security master and reference data knowledge across equities, fixed income and derivatives
• Real feed management and EDM configuration experience: building and changing feeds, process context, derivation logic
• A strong technical base in SQL / PL/SQL, Oracle and XML, ideally with C# or .NET
• Experience connecting GAIN to upstream and downstream platforms such as Aladdin, Charles River or SimCorp Dimension
• A background in asset management, investment operations or financial technology
• The ability to explain complex data issues clearly to business users and operations teams

Nice to have

• An ex AIM Software background
• Aladdin integration experience
• Bloomberg Back Office or Data License feeds
• Agile delivery experience

The package

Permanent role with a competitive base salary, annual bonus and benefits. Hybrid from a hub in the US East Coast, UK or India, with remote considered for the right person. Hours aligned to your local hub with some overlap with US Eastern time.

Please note: SimCorp Dimension only experience won't be considered for this one. We need people who have built inside GAIN itself.
