Kitchen Porter - #2171287
TOGETHER.SPACE
TOGETHER is a human-first space designed for how people come together. Built on hospitality, clarity and care, we create the conditions for connection to happen properly. Calm on the surface. Rigorous underneath.
Food plays a central role in how our space feels. It supports focus, energy and conversation without ever demanding attention. We're now looking for a full-time Kitchen Porter to keep our kitchen running smoothly, safely and on time.
THE ROLE
As Kitchen Porter, you'll keep the kitchen clean, stocked and ready, so our chefs can focus on the food. You'll look after the wash-up, cleaning schedules, waste and deliveries. When service is busy, you'll lend a hand with prep. This is a hands-on role for an organised, proactive kitchen porter who knows how a high-volume kitchen moves and takes pride in doing the basics properly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate and clean commercial dishwashers to ensure a rapid, continuous supply of clean crockery, cutlery and glassware for high-volume corporate services
- Hand-wash and sanitise heavy-duty cookware, pots, pans and chef utensils to keep pace with a fast-moving kitchen brigade
- Maintain an organised section in the wash-up area, ensuring clean equipment is returned promptly to food preparation and service lines
- Uphold rigorous cleanliness standards across all kitchen, storage and back-of-house areas, adhering strictly to HACCP food safety regulations
- Carry out daily and weekly deep-cleaning schedules, including degreasing floors, sanitising work surfaces and deep-cleaning kitchen appliances and fridges
- Handle commercial cleaning chemicals safely, ensuring absolute compliance with COSHH regulations and corporate health and safety policies
- Manage kitchen waste efficiently, emptying and sanitising bins daily and ensuring correct segregation of general waste, food waste and recycling
- Assist with stock control by receiving daily deliveries, checking order accuracy and safely transporting stock to dry stores, walk-in fridges and freezers
- Ensure strict stock rotation, organising storage areas according to FIFO (first in, first out) guidelines
- Assist the chef team with basic food prep during peak times, including washing, peeling and preparing fresh ingredients
- Keep corridors and loading bays clear and safe, ensuring all walkways remain free of hazards and obstructions
- Report maintenance issues or faulty machinery immediately to the Head Chef or Facilities Manager to minimise operational downtime
ABOUT YOU
- Established experience as a Kitchen Porter in a high-volume kitchen
- Highly organised, keeping your section tidy and equipment moving at the busiest times
- Proactive and efficient, seeing what needs doing before you're asked
- A team player who works well with chefs, front of house and the operations team
- Good working knowledge of HACCP, COSHH and the safe use of cleaning chemicals
- Reliable, punctual and comfortable on your feet through long, busy shifts
- Someone who takes pride in a clean, well-run kitchen
WHY JOIN TOGETHER?
- Be part of a purpose-led brand redefining food and hospitality in professional spaces
- Work in a considered, design-led environment where quality and care matter
- Join a small, experienced team that values clarity, collaboration and doing things properly
- A full-time role in a well-run kitchen where your work is noticed and valued
If you take pride in keeping a kitchen running smoothly, we'd love to hear from you.
