A private equity-backed organisation is embarking on a significant ERP and business transformation programme, centred around Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.

As part of an ambitious growth strategy, including multiple acquisitions and ongoing business integration activities, we are seeking an experienced D365FO Programme Director / ERP Transformation Director to become the face of the programme and take full accountability for the successful delivery of the transformation.

This is a highly visible leadership position with regular exposure to executive stakeholders, investors, board members, and third-party delivery partners. The successful candidate will establish the programme governance framework, define the future operating model, drive business change, and ensure the organisation realises measurable business benefits from its technology investment.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as the executive lead and figurehead for a business-critical D365FO transformation programme.
- Establish and maintain programme governance, steering committees, reporting structures, and decision-making forums.
- Drive accountability across all programme workstreams, ensuring successful delivery against agreed objectives.
- Own programme benefits realisation, ensuring transformation outcomes are clearly defined, measured, and achieved.
- Develop and implement a scalable Group operating model capable of supporting future acquisitions and business growth.
- Lead relationships with systems integrators, consultancies, software vendors, and other third-party delivery partners.
- Oversee programme budgets, financial controls, cost management, forecasting, and investment tracking.
- Provide regular updates and programme reporting to Executive Leadership, Board Members, and Private Equity investors.
- Support acquisition activity by developing integration frameworks and ensuring newly acquired businesses can be onboarded effectively.
- Drive organisational change, process standardisation, and business transformation alongside technology delivery.
- Manage programme risks, issues, dependencies, and escalation processes.
- Ensure alignment between business strategy, operational requirements, and technology delivery.

Required Experience

- Proven track record delivering enterprise-wide Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations transformations.
- Previous experience operating as a Programme Director, ERP Director, Transformation Director, or PMO Leader on large-scale transformation initiatives.
- Strong experience within Private Equity-backed organisations or high-growth businesses.
- Demonstrable experience establishing programme governance and benefits realisation frameworks.
- Experience leading complex multi-vendor environments and holding delivery partners accountable.
- Strong financial governance experience, including programme budgets, investment justification, and cost management.
- Experience designing and implementing target operating models and transformation roadmaps.
- Proven success managing transformation programmes during periods of rapid growth, acquisition, and organisational change.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including Board-level and Investor engagement.

What's Needed to Succeed

This role requires a commercially astute transformation leader who can balance strategic vision with programme execution. You'll be comfortable operating at Executive and Investor level whilst simultaneously driving accountability across internal teams and external partners. Most importantly, you'll have a track record of delivering complex ERP transformations that generate genuine business value and enable future growth through acquisition and scalability.
