Senior IBA Technician/IBA Manager - #2176249

HFG are currently representing an established independent insurance broker looking to recruit an experienced IBA professional to join their business.

Our client is open to considering candidates at IBA Technician, IBA Manager or Senior IBA Manager level, depending on their experience, technical ability and ability to take ownership of the insurance broking accounts function.

This is a hands-on opportunity within a close-knit business, offering excellent exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to play a key role in managing and developing the IBA function.

For more experienced candidates, the position will offer genuine autonomy and responsibility for the day-to-day accounts function. Equally, candidates with a strong foundation in insurance broking accounts who are looking to develop their technical skills and progress their careers will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on experience and seniority, responsibilities will include:

• Managing client and insurer cash allocations
• Completing insurer statement reconciliations and settlements
• Performing bank and client money account reconciliations
• Managing credit control and monitoring outstanding premiums
• Processing refunds and return premiums
• Completing commission and brokerage reconciliations
• Producing Client Money Calculations and ensuring compliance with FCA requirements
• Supporting month-end processes, reporting and reconciliations
• Investigating and resolving accounting discrepancies
• Maintaining accurate records and processing transactions using Acturis
• Liaising with insurers, clients, brokers and senior stakeholders to resolve account queries
• Producing reports and escalating overdue or outstanding items
• Supporting improvements to existing IBA processes, controls and procedures
• For more senior candidates, taking ownership of the day-to-day IBA function and ensuring its smooth operation

Experience & Requirements

We are keen to speak with candidates who have:

• A minimum of 3 years' experience within insurance broking accounts, IBA or a closely related insurance finance function
• Ideally 2+ years' hands-on Acturis experience, with regular use of the system
• A strong understanding of insurance accounting principles and processes
• Experience across reconciliations, insurer settlements, premium processing and client money
• Knowledge of FCA Client Money requirements
• Strong numerical, reconciliation and Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and organisational skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive approach to resolving queries and improving processes
