We’re working with a well-established, global creative business operating across approximately 10 countries, supporting a diverse international client base.

The business is looking to appoint a technically strong Group Financial Controller to oversee group financial reporting, strengthen financial controls and ensure consistency across its international entities.

This is a key role within the finance function, offering responsibility for group consolidation, statutory reporting, financial governance and the continued development of accounting processes across a complex, multi-entity environment.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual group reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.
  • Oversee group consolidation, including intercompany reconciliations, elimination entries and resolution of intercompany differences.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close procedures, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger, trial balance and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure consistent application of accounting policies and compliance with relevant accounting standards across international entities.
  • Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and coordinate external audits across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisers and other professional service providers.
  • Oversee intercompany accounting, foreign currency transactions, revaluations and consolidation adjustments.
  • Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, provisions and other complex accounting areas.
  • Monitor compliance with statutory filing requirements, local accounting regulations and group reporting deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial controls, accounting policies and reporting procedures across the group.
  • Support the implementation and standardisation of finance systems, reporting tools and accounting processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy and consistency of the group finance function.
  • Lead and develop the financial control team, ensuring high standards of technical accuracy, accountability and delivery.
About you
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with a strong technical accounting background.
  • Proven experience in a Group Financial Controller, Financial Controller or equivalent senior financial control role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of group consolidation, statutory reporting and financial accounting.
  • Experience working within a multi-entity, international group structure.
  • Good understanding of foreign currency accounting, intercompany transactions and consolidation adjustments.
  • Experience managing external audits and statutory accounts across multiple entities.
  • Strong knowledge of financial controls, balance sheet integrity and month-end and year-end reporting.
  • Familiarity with relevant accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting systems or ERP platforms.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple reporting deadlines across different jurisdictions.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively with finance teams and external stakeholders internationally.
  • Experience within a global creative, media, marketing or professional services business would be advantageous.
The opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically focused finance professional to take ownership of group financial control within an established international business. The role offers broad exposure to complex multi-entity accounting, international reporting requirements and the opportunity to strengthen financial processes across a global organisation.
