Key Responsibilities

  1. Review daily profit and loss results and investigate key drivers and variances.
  2. Partner with trading desks, finance teams, and support functions to validate and explain P&L movements.
  3. Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial reporting.
  4. Perform balance sheet substantiation and analysis.
  5. Contribute to financial controls and attestation processes supporting external financial reporting requirements.
  6. Assist in the preparation of management reporting and business performance packs.
  7. Work closely with accounting policy and finance teams on new products, transactions, and accounting considerations.
  8. Analyse funding, liquidity, and balance sheet impacts of trading activity.
  9. Participate in process improvement initiatives and ad hoc projects.
  10. Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Front Office, Risk, Operations, and Finance.

Candidate Profile

We're keen to speak with candidates who are:

  1. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualified accountants.
  2. Between 0-2 years post-qualified experience.
  3. Currently working in Product Control, Financial Control, Audit, Assurance, Financial Services Accounting, or a related discipline.
  4. Interested in developing expertise across a range of financial products rather than specialising immediately in a specific asset class.
  5. Strong analytical thinkers with excellent attention to detail.
  6. Comfortable working with large datasets and financial information.
  7. Effective communicators who can engage confidently with a wide range of stakeholders.
  8. Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Motivated, proactive, and keen to develop within a global markets finance environment.

Desirable Experience

  1. Exposure to investment banking, capital markets, treasury, or financial services environments.
  2. Understanding of product control, valuation control, financial reporting, or audit processes.
  3. Familiarity with financial instruments including fixed income, FX, equities, derivatives, or structured products.
  4. Awareness of market and regulatory developments affecting financial institutions.
