London (Hybrid) | £120,000 - £140,000 + Equity

This is an opportunity to lead the data science strategy for a rapidly growing fintech business where AI, machine learning, and data-driven decision making sit at the heart of the organisation. You'll play a key role in shaping risk and affordability modelling capabilities while building solutions that directly influence business performance and customer outcomes.

The Role

• Define and lead the data science strategy across risk, affordability, and decisioning.
• Develop and deploy machine learning models that support lending decisions.
• Drive the adoption of AI and advanced analytics solutions across the organisation.
• Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Credit Risk, and Operations teams.
• Own model deployment, monitoring, governance, and performance evaluation.
• Present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders and leadership teams.

Your Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience in credit risk modelling within consumer lending or financial services.
• Hands-on expertise in Python, SQL, machine learning, and predictive modelling.
• Experience deploying models into production environments and monitoring performance.
• Knowledge of AI, LLMs, or agent-based technologies in real-world applications.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to balance technical excellence with commercial objectives.
