About the role

As a Technology Systems & Support Engineer, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality technology services, helping ensure that students and colleagues can make effective use of the systems and tools that support learning, teaching and day-to-day operations.

You'll provide both onsite and remote technical support across a range of technologies, including end-user devices, Microsoft 365, teaching spaces and collaboration tools. What You'll Do:

  • Provide responsive onsite and remote technology support to colleagues and students across BIMM University.
  • Diagnose and resolve a broad range of hardware, software, operating system and connectivity issues.
  • Manage incidents and service requests through the IT service management platform, taking ownership through to resolution or escalation where appropriate.
  • Configure, deploy and maintain laptops, desktops, mobile devices and other workplace technologies.
  • Help ensure classrooms, teaching spaces, meeting rooms and collaboration technologies are operational and ready for use.
  • Support software deployment, device provisioning, updates and endpoint security activities.
  • Work with Senior Engineers and specialist teams to support the resolution of more complex technical issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, knowledge articles and asset records.
  • Identify opportunities to improve support processes, self-service resources and the overall user experience.
  • Support technology projects, campus developments and the introduction of new technologies across the University.

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience working in technology support, desktop support, systems support or a similar technical environment.
  • Good troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, operating systems and end-user technologies.
  • Experience delivering excellent customer-focused support in a busy environment.
  • A good understanding of Microsoft 365 and modern workplace technologies.
  • Experience supporting classroom, meeting room, audiovisual or collaboration technologies.
  • Knowledge of service desk, incident management and support processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to a range of users.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • A willingness to learn new technologies and contribute to a positive, user-focused technology service.
