Career Moves are delighted to be exclusively partnering with a high-growth, award-winning fintech business at a pivotal stage of its journey. Following a period of transformation, the business is investing significantly in its people, processes and technology to build a scalable platform for future growth.

Reporting directly to the COO and Board, this is a rare opportunity for an ambitious Group Financial Controller to take on a highly visible leadership role, combining hands-on financial stewardship with the chance to enhance systems and controls, support strategic decision-making, and play a key role in shaping the next phase of growth for an expanding international business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance leader who enjoys operating in a growing, evolving environment.

  • Take end-to-end ownership of the finance function, operating with limited supervision and providing clear, credible advice to the board
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, ensuring accurate, timely and well-controlled financial reporting
  • Own the management-accounts pack, strengthen variance analysis and present financial performance, risks and recommendations
  • Enhance the control environment, including safeguarding, FCA-related reporting responsibilities and oversight of derivatives accounting
  • Lead external audit preparation and support the transition to a new audit provider
  • Review and improve finance policies, processes, systems and documentation, with a focus on automation, integration and scalability
  • Develop budgeting, forecasting and FP&A capability as the business grows
  • Lead, protect and develop a small finance team, raising standards while maintaining stability and engagement
  • Partner with Operations, IT, Treasury, Compliance, People and Commercial colleagues to support the target operating model
  • Support regulatory and commercial expansion, including potential future licence applications
  • Assume broader Treasury responsibilities as the structure evolves, subject to experience
Candidate Requirements
  • ACA/CA qualified or equivalent
  • 5+ years post-qualified financial control experience.
  • Trained within a leading audit or accountancy practice.
  • Understanding of safeguarding requirements, client money regulations and/or foreign exchange operations
  • Strong technical accounting, reporting and controls expertise covering FCA and Safeguarding environments
  • Track record of systems improvement, finance transformation or process optimisation.
  • Experience presenting financial information to senior stakeholders and boards.
  • Previous team leadership and people management experience.
