Octavius Finance has recently been appointed by a leading investment management firm to appoint an Investment Grade Credit Analyst to its established fixed income team.

This is an opportunity for an analyst with 3–5 years' experience to take responsibility for fundamental credit research across the global investment grade corporate bond universe, contributing to investment decisions within a well-established investment platform.

The successful candidate will operate as a broad-based generalist, analysing companies and assessing credit fundamentals across a diverse range of industries and geographies.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct fundamental credit research across global investment grade corporate bonds.
  2. Analyse corporate financial statements, business models, capital structures and credit metrics.
  3. Assess creditworthiness, identify investment opportunities and monitor existing positions.
  4. Develop and maintain detailed financial models and credit analysis.
  5. Produce investment recommendations and communicate findings to portfolio managers and the wider investment team.
  6. Monitor industry developments, macroeconomic factors and company-specific events that may impact credit quality.
  7. Contribute to the ongoing development of the team's investment views and portfolio positioning.

Candidate Requirements

  1. 3–5 years' experience in corporate credit research within an asset manager, investment bank or comparable investment environment.
  2. Demonstrable experience analysing investment grade corporate bonds.
  3. Broad generalist sector coverage, ideally spanning multiple non-financial corporate sectors.
  4. Strong understanding of corporate financial statements, credit metrics, capital structures and fundamental credit analysis.
  5. Excellent financial modelling, analytical and written communication skills.
  6. Ability to form independent credit views and articulate investment conclusions.
  7. A genuine interest in global corporate credit markets

We are particularly interested in analysts with broad corporate credit experience across sectors such as industrials, consumer, healthcare, technology, telecommunications, utilities, energy and materials.

This is a generalist corporate credit position. Candidates whose experience is predominantly focused on financial institutions, including banks and insurance companies, are unlikely to be suitable.
