This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in investment compliance, portfolio guideline monitoring or investment operations to take on a varied role within a highly respected investment environment.

You will play a key role in interpreting and implementing investment guidelines across a range of client and fund portfolios, ensuring that appropriate controls are embedded within compliance systems and that new accounts and mandate amendments are delivered accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Review, interpret and analyse investment management agreements, client guidelines, prospectuses and regulatory requirements.
  2. Translate investment restrictions into effective portfolio compliance rules and controls across multi-asset portfolios.
  3. Support new account onboarding, fund launches and mandate amendments, ensuring accurate and timely implementation.
  4. Work closely with Investment, Legal, Client Services and Marketing teams to interpret investment objectives and resolve complex guideline requirements.
  5. Liaise with compliance rule coders to implement and maintain controls within the portfolio compliance system.
  6. Contribute to the development and enhancement of policies, procedures and operational controls.
  7. Undertake quality assurance reviews, assess potential risks and ensure guideline accuracy.
  8. Support workflow management, provide guidance to colleagues and contribute to team training and development.
  9. Participate in projects focused on improving operational efficiency, processes and technology.
Skills & Experience
  1. Experience in portfolio guideline analysis, investment compliance or a closely related investment management function.
  2. Good understanding of investment restrictions, client mandates, fund documentation and portfolio compliance requirements.
  3. Experience interpreting investment guidelines and translating them into practical compliance controls.
  4. Familiarity with compliance monitoring systems and rule coding principles. Experience with CRD would be advantageous.
  5. Understanding of multi-asset investment strategies, portfolio construction and investment processes.
  6. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and interrogate data from multiple systems.
  7. Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with investment professionals, senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  8. A proactive, inquisitive approach with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Technology, AI & Process Improvement

The successful candidate will also contribute to the evolution of the function, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and strengthen operational controls.

This includes:

  1. Exploring practical applications of AI to support guideline interpretation, analysis and documentation.
  2. Identifying opportunities to automate repetitive processes and improve workflow efficiency.
  3. Working with business and technology stakeholders to develop scalable process and system enhancements.
  4. Evaluating new tools and solutions while maintaining appropriate governance and oversight.

The Opportunity

This is a broad and engaging position offering exposure to complex investment mandates, global investment operations and ongoing technology-driven change. It will suit someone who combines strong technical knowledge of investment guidelines with curiosity, initiative and a genuine interest in improving how things work
