The role will focus on user account administration, access management, end-user support and system familiarisation, working closely with internal teams and other government stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end user account process, including creating, amending and terminating accounts.
  • Ensure users have the appropriate access to systems and information required for their role.
  • Maintain accurate account-management processes, records and supporting documentation.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding user access and system issues.
  • Deliver initial system familiarisation and basic end-user training.
  • Support reasonable adjustment requirements where needed.
  • Provide basic IT fault finding and act as an "intelligent hands" resource for technical teams.
  • Support system patching and other straightforward technical activity where required.
  • Act as a local point of contact for system support provided by other government departments.
  • Provide administrative support to the wider team across multiple locations.
  • Support general operational and ad hoc activities required to maintain the service.

Essential Experience

  • Experience in user administration, account management or system administration.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a highly controlled environment.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Ability to understand complex information quickly and work to tight deadlines.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience supporting highly secure or sensitive IT systems.
  • Experience within government, defence, national security or another regulated environment.
  • Experience with non-technical account management or access administration.
  • Experience delivering user familiarisation or basic system training.
