Freelance Social Media Manager

Rate: £350 per day, outside IR35
Working pattern: Full-time, hybrid (3 days a week in the London office)
Markets: South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya

A consumer products brand is looking for a freelance Social Media Manager to coordinate social activity across its African distribution markets. You'll be the day-to-day link between internal teams and local distributors, keeping plans, approvals and delivery on track. The role focuses on account management and campaign coordination; local teams handle content creation and publishing.

What you'll do

• Manage day-to-day relationships with distributors across South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya.

• Coordinate social activity across the three markets, ensuring local plans align with the wider brand strategy.

• Manage timelines, approvals and deliverables, keeping internal teams and regional partners clear on what's needed and when.

• Spot delivery issues early and improve how teams share updates and manage campaign rollouts.

What you'll need

• Strong account management, client services or stakeholder management experience, ideally across multiple markets.

• Excellent organisation and project management skills, with confidence owning timelines, approvals and several workstreams at once.

• An understanding of how social campaigns are delivered and the ability to get up to speed quickly. Experience working with distributors or regional partners is a plus.

This would suit an agency Account Manager or a social operations professional who enjoys managing relationships and keeping campaigns moving.
