Head of Operations / COO - Prominent Quant Multi-Strat Hedge Fund Launch - CassonX - #2187584

CassonX are delighted to be a recruiter for this nearly $1bn Systematic/Quant launch, which will trade a truly macro focus on high-frequency investment strategies. After a couple of years of hiring some of the best talent available in the market, they are now looking for a leader in their London office. This is an exceptional time to be joining the company, where can build from the beginning of what could be one of the most prominent launches (managing their own fund and SMAs) that Europe has seen in recent times. You must be a motivated individual, willing to work 5 days in office, and able to roll your sleeves up to make them successful. In return, they are offering profit share to incentivise you, and consider this is early in their evolution, this could be very lucrative in the future.

To be considered for this role, CassonX are looking identify someone coming from quant multi-strategy hedge funds or electronic market makers / proprietary trading firms, with real trading infrastructure expertise (exchanges, prime and clearing brokers, settlement) and a credible understanding of fund operations and valuation (NAV). The right person will have built and run operations before, take full ownership of operations at firm level, spot gaps and fix them efficiently, and build the right mix of in-house teams, remote teams, outsourced providers and tools. We will be prioritising those who have a maximum of three months notice, ideally much shorter, and looking that a Head of Ops or COO title as the same or improvement. To clarify, we are not looking for a senior manager from a large firm whose role is mainly managing people, nor traditional fund COOs whose experience is mainly overseeing administrators, compliance and investor reporting.

This is a truly fantastic role being the most senior Operations/COO person in London, reporting into the CEO. They already have an office in London, with traders and an Operations member of staff, collaborating with the wider group, but you will required to not only help assist the build and implement controls for the Trading Operations and Fund Accounting and Valuations function, but you will be required to support everything to do with the trade lifecycles, and investigating discrepancies in a “hands on” capacity from time to time.
