An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to join the international business development team of an elite US law firm. Based in London, this strategic role will support high-profile disputes and regulatory practices across Europe, working closely with partners to drive client growth, strengthen market presence and identify new business opportunities.

The Role

Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, you will lead a broad range of business development initiatives, including client development, strategic pitches, thought leadership campaigns, events, legal directory submissions and market intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver strategic business development plans across key practice groups.
• Lead the preparation of pitches, proposals and RFP responses to win new business.
• Identify opportunities through client intelligence, market research and competitor analysis.
• Support client relationship initiatives and cross-selling opportunities.
• Manage thought leadership programmes, webinars and client-facing events.
• Coordinate legal directory and award submissions.
• Maintain and enhance business development materials, credentials and lawyer profiles.
• Collaborate with international colleagues on cross-border growth initiatives.

About You

• 8+ years' business development or marketing experience within a law firm or professional services environment.
• Strong experience supporting complex practice groups and partner-led initiatives.
• Proven pitch, proposal and project management expertise.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
• Commercially minded with strong analytical and organisational abilities.
• Experience supporting disputes, investigations or regulatory practices would be highly advantageous.
