HR Officer (Generalist) - #2187734

We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Officer (Generalist) to join a busy and collaborative HR function supporting the Metropolitan Police. This is a hands-on generalist role offering the opportunity to work across a broad range of HR activities, providing operational support to managers and employees while contributing to the delivery of an efficient and high-quality HR service.

Key Details:

• Contract: Temporary, 6-month contract
• Location: London, SE1
• Working Pattern: Hybrid, with attendance in the SE1 area approximately 1–2 days per week and occasional travel to another London office location
• Hours: Monday-Friday, standard office hours
• Start Date: ASAP
• Rate: £24.37 per hour PAYE / £31.64 per hour Umbrella
• Vetting: Candidates must be eligible and willing to undergo CTC clearance

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver day-to-day HR support across the employee lifecycle
• Support payroll-related activity and ensure accurate employee records are maintained
• Coordinate recruitment activities and provide support and guidance to hiring managers
• Assist with onboarding processes and employee administration
• Build effective working relationships with managers and key stakeholders
• Support HR reporting and data management activities
• Ensure HR processes are delivered efficiently and in line with organisational policies and procedures
• Contribute to the delivery of a professional, customer-focused HR service within a fast-paced environment

About You:

• Previous experience working in a generalist HR role
• Experience supporting recruitment and onboarding activities
• Knowledge of payroll processes and HR administration
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Confident working independently and able to quickly become effective with minimal supervision
• Proactive, adaptable and able to thrive in a busy operational environment
