Contracts Manager | Digital Media | London - #2187792
Harmonic Group Ltd
Contracts Manager | Digital Media | London
The Role
The Contracts Manager will work independently across the business affairs department initially, partnering with teams across the business, owning the day-to-day contracts function and partnering with the commercial and creative teams. You'll handle a wide range of agreements, from smaller individual contracts to significant commercial deals. The role is hands-on, and there's a lot of room to grow with the business. Progression depends on the quality of your work, your drive and your ownership, not on years of experience. The plan is to expand the department within 6 months of your start, so once you settle in, you'll have the opportunity to hire and mentor a junior team member to support you.
New commercial ideas come up all the time, so you'll need to give clear, practical advice that keeps deals moving. The ideal candidate is a confident communicator who enjoys being part of a busy, social office. This is perfect a role for someone who likes building relationships, working in a collaborative, high performing business, and has a clear passion for social media.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate talent, creator, brand partnership, sponsorship and agency agreements, including high-value commercial contracts.
- Negotiate key terms including fees, payment terms, exclusivity, termination, liability and indemnities.
- Manage IP, content ownership, image rights and usage rights provisions, including paid media, whitelisting and extended usage.
- Act as the internal point of contact for compliance matters, escalating significant matters to leadership.
- Identify contractual and commercial risk while finding practical ways to move deals forward.
- Coordinate disputes and potential claims, instructing external counsel where needed.
- Maintain and improve contract templates, processes and internal guidance as the business scales.
- Ad hoc tasks to support the wider leadership team
What We Need to See (Essential)
- Around 3+ years of commercial contract drafting and negotiation experience.
- A background in entertainment, media, publishing, TV, advertising, social media or talent management (or generally creative, IP led businesses)
- Experience in an entrepreneurial, non-corporate environment, handling a high volume of contracts with competing priorities.
Package:
Salary: £45,000-£50,000
Benefits include: Frequent salary reviews and inflation raises, bonus, plus private healthcare, monthly performance incentives, team trips and an early finish on Fridays
Working pattern: 5 days per week in-office with flexibility to reduce to 4 days following probation, based in North London
