Are you an aspiring English Teacher looking to gain a full academic year of classroom experience before starting teacher training?

A fantastic Secondary School in Havering is searching for an academically strong English Graduate to join its English Department as a Graduate Tutor.

You will work directly with students who require additional academic support while also helping to stretch higher-attaining pupils.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your classroom confidence, subject knowledge and understanding of Secondary education.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

• Supporting English across KS3 and KS4
• Delivering targeted English intervention
• Running 1:1 and small-group sessions
• Supporting GCSE pupils with revision
• Helping pupils improve essay structure and written analysis
• Supporting pupils with reading comprehension
• Assisting teachers within English lessons
• Monitoring academic progress

ABOUT YOU

• English Graduate
• 1st Class or 2:1 Degree desirable
• Strong GCSEs and A Levels
• Confident academic ability
• Passion for English and education
• Excellent communication skills
• Aspiring Teacher strongly encouraged
• Previous experience with young people advantageous but not essential
