Working with Physical commodities in either Market Risk or Product Control?

Tired of unnecessary bureaucracy or over complicated ETRMS and just want to add value?

We are supporting a fantastic firm looking to add to their stable of risk managers. This is a highly commercial role focused on true value add to the trading team rather than hiring individuals who are more concerned with which VaR model they want to focus on.

Leadership has been had selected from the very best corners of the markets over the years and are now looking to add another member of their team.

The catch - 4 days per week in the office and a budget which is fair but certainly not market leading!

Responsibilities:

1. Identification of gaps using lateral thinking and intuition to increase transparency for the business
2. Produce true value in reports offering insights to market risk from trading and hedging activities
3. Deliver PnL, Mark to Market reports with insightful commentary
4. Validate P&L markers and investigate challenges

Required experience:

Non-negotiable demonstrable experience

1. Physical commodities (ambivalent as to which products)
2. Market Risk or Product Control to a manager level of seniority (no specific line management experience required)
3. Ability to work in the UK without sponsorship
