Your new company
Hays is partnering with an established insurance business to recruit a Syndicate Financial Controller into its London finance team. This is a broad financial control role with responsibility for ensuring accurate, timely and well-controlled financial reporting across the business.


Your new role
Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the financial close and delivery of accurate financial results.
• Owning balance sheet control, reconciliations and financial integrity.
• Overseeing treasury, cash flow and core finance operations.
• Supporting statutory and regulatory reporting.
• Maintaining and improving the financial control and risk framework.
• Coordinating finance requirements for internal and external audit.
• Working closely with accounting, reporting and wider business teams.
• Supporting finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience gained within the Lloyd's market.
You will ideally have:

• Strong financial control and month-end close experience.
• Knowledge of insurance or syndicate accounting.
• Strong balance sheet and reconciliation experience.
• Exposure to regulatory and statutory reporting.
• Experience working with auditors and senior stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to improving processes and controls.
