Management Accountant
Growing Pharmaceutical Business | Brilliant Team Culture | Development Opportunity
London | Hybrid Working (3 Days in Office)
£40,000–£45,000 + Benefits
A brilliant opportunity to join a fast-growing pharmaceutical business in a broad, hands-on finance role, working alongside a genuinely lovely team with plenty of opportunity to develop and progress.
We've recruited everyone in the current finance team, so we know the people you'll be working with really well. They're a down-to-earth, friendly bunch who enjoy a laugh, work hard and genuinely get on with each other. They're now looking for someone who shares that approach and wants to become part of the team as the business continues to grow.
The role itself is varied, combining transactional finance with month-end accounting, reconciliations and wider finance projects. You'll get exposure to different areas of the business, and as the company continues to expand, there will be opportunities to take on more responsibility and develop your career.
They're not looking for the finished article. Someone with a solid accounting foundation, some hands-on month-end experience and the right attitude would be a great fit.
It's a small finance team, so everyone gets involved, helps each other out and takes ownership of whatever needs doing. If you're someone who enjoys that type of environment, you'll fit in really well.
The Role:
- Support the month-end close, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
- Assist with the preparation of management accounts and internal reporting
- Get involved in day-to-day transactional finance, including AP and AR
- Support balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
- Assist with bank reconciliations, cash flow reporting and forecasting
- Gain exposure to stock, inventory and product costing
- Support audit preparation and statutory reporting
- Get involved in improving existing finance processes and controls
- Support the transition from Xero to Sage X3
- Take on wider projects and additional responsibilities as the business grows
The Candidate:
- A good grounding in transactional finance, with some hands-on month-end experience
- Comfortable with journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
- Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or AAT, or qualified by experience
- Exposure to stock, inventory or manufacturing accounting would be beneficial, but isn't essential
- Experience with Xero, Sage X3 or a finance systems implementation would be a bonus
- Happy working in a smaller finance team where everyone gets involved
- Proactive, organised and comfortable taking ownership of your work
- Confident asking questions, communicating with colleagues and getting stuck into different tasks
- Someone with a good sense of humour who enjoys being part of a close-knit team
- Keen to learn, develop and grow with the business
Salary & Benefits:
- £40,000–£45,000 depending on experience
- Hybrid working – 3 days per week in the London office
- 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays
- Study support
- Opportunity to progress as the business grows
- Exposure to systems improvements and wider finance projects
- A genuinely supportive, down-to-earth finance team
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants more than a narrowly defined finance role.
You'll be joining a business that's growing at pace, working with people who are genuinely good to work with, and getting the opportunity to broaden your experience as the finance function develops.
If you're looking for a role where you can get stuck in, have a laugh with the people around you and build your career, this could be a really good move.
