Your new company
A leading international insurance business with a well-established London finance team is seeking a Cash Accountant to join on a 6-month temporary basis during a period of continued growth.
Your new role

• Process and reconcile daily cash transactions across multiple bank accounts and finance systems.
• Investigate and resolve outstanding balances within cash clearing and unallocated cash accounts.
• Post and approve journals to support month-end close activities.
• Prepare and complete balance sheet reconciliations in line with company policies.
• Analyse aged and unallocated cash balances and produce management reports.
• Liaise with brokers and internal stakeholders to resolve cash-related queries.
• Support credit control activities for new business operations.
• Provide cover for payment processing and banking platform administration.
• Assist with process improvement initiatives, testing, reporting and ad-hoc finance projects.

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience in Insurance.
• Previous experience in Cash Accounting, Finance Operations, Treasury or a similar finance role.
• Strong understanding of cash receipts, payments and bank reconciliations.
• Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and journal postings.
• Experience completing balance sheet reconciliations.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• A proactive approach with a willingness to support wider finance activities.
