  • Creating an inclusive, stimulating and positive classroom environment.

  • Differentiating lessons to meet the needs and abilities of students.

  • Maintaining high standards of behaviour and classroom management.

  • Previous teaching experience within a secondary school or a relevant educational setting.

  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver Psychology lessons confidently.

  • Effective classroom management and communication skills.

  • A genuine commitment to student progress, safeguarding and inclusive education.

  • The ability to build positive professional relationships with students, colleagues and parents.

Pay and Career Progression

Tradewind Recruitment offers competitive daily supply rates of £150-£170 per day, depending on experience, qualifications, teaching ability and the level of responsibility undertaken.

We recognise that teachers develop their skills and expertise over time. Our pay structure reflects this, giving candidates opportunities to progress towards the higher end of the daily rate.

How can you achieve the higher daily rate of £170?

Candidates may be considered for higher daily rates by demonstrating:

  • Previous experience: A strong track record of successful Psychology teaching and experience working within secondary schools.

  • Developing your expertise: Demonstrating consistently strong lesson delivery, subject knowledge and classroom management.

  • Taking on additional responsibilities: Supporting departmental activities, contributing to curriculum planning, mentoring students or undertaking additional teaching responsibilities.

  • Proven performance: Receiving positive feedback from schools and demonstrating reliability, professionalism and a consistent standard of teaching.

  • Progression within the role: Building experience through regular placements, developing relationships with schools and demonstrating the ability to take on greater responsibilities.

The final daily rate will be agreed based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, suitability and the requirements of the school.

Long-Term Opportunities: For candidates securing a long-term teaching placement, remuneration will be paid in line with the school's applicable Main Teacher Pay Scale (MPS), reflecting the relevant teaching experience and agreed salary point.
