An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced legal finance professional to join a highly regarded international law firm in its London office. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this position offers a unique opportunity for an established Revenue Manager or Billing Manager to broaden their experience and develop into a wider Finance Manager role.

Whilst the position carries the title of Finance Manager, approximately 70% of the role is focused on revenue management, billing, e-billing and partner-facing financial management, making it particularly well suited to candidates with a strong revenue background who are looking to expand their exposure across finance operations, team leadership, systems and reporting.

Working within a collaborative and highly visible finance team, you will act as a key business partner to Partners and senior leadership, driving billing performance, lock-up management and revenue generation, whilst supporting the Finance Director with the wider management of the finance function.

The Role

The Finance Manager will take ownership of the firm's revenue and billing function whilst also supporting broader financial operations, compliance, reporting, systems oversight and team supervision. Key Responsibilities

Revenue Management & Billing (Core Focus)

• Lead responsibility for the firm's revenue management strategy, billing and e-billing processes.
• Manage the monthly billing cycle and ensure compliance with client requirements and VAT regulations.
• Run regular WIP, billing and accounts receivable meetings with Partners.
• Provide commercial insight and challenge around WIP management, lock-up and billing performance.
• Oversee aged debt reporting, collections activity and cash flow optimisation.
• Build strong relationships with Partners and fee earners, acting as a trusted advisor on revenue matters.
• Drive continuous improvement across billing and revenue processes.
• Manage client billing queries and support key client relationships.

Finance Operations & Reporting

• Support month-end and year-end processes.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Analyse financial performance and provide meaningful reporting to leadership.
• Support the Finance Director with wider finance projects and operational initiatives.

Compliance & Risk

• Ensure ongoing compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules and VAT regulations.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Maintain and enhance finance policies, procedures and controls.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Act as the primary point of contact for finance systems.
• Support system upgrades, testing and process enhancements.
• Identify opportunities for automation and operational improvements.

Team Leadership

• Supervise and support the Legal Cashier and Accounts Payable function.
• Mentor and develop junior team members.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

About You

• Experienced Revenue Managers, Senior Revenue Managers and Billing Managers from a law firm environment who are looking to broaden their responsibilities.

You will also bring:

• Strong understanding of legal finance and law firm billing environments.
• Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules and VAT requirements.
• Experience leading WIP and revenue discussions with Partners.
• Excellent commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong systems experience, ideally including Aderant, Elite 3E or similar legal finance platforms.
• A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
