Senior Credit Controller - #2190566

An established and growing specialist lending business is seeking an experienced Senior Credit Controller to join its team.

This is a standalone, hands-on position with responsibility for managing and overseeing a substantial live loan arrears portfolio across multiple lending entities.

We are looking for an experienced credit control professional with a strong background in lending and collections, who has a thorough understanding of loan arrears, borrower management and the recovery of outstanding interest payments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take full ownership of a live loan arrears portfolio, ensuring overdue interest payments are actively managed and collected.
• Lead collections activity, maintaining regular contact with borrowers and driving timely repayment of outstanding balances.
• Monitor arrears performance, identify emerging risks and proactively manage accounts showing signs of financial difficulty.
• Produce arrears reports, providing regular updates on portfolio performance.
• Maintain accurate loan account records, payment allocations, outstanding balances and interest calculations across multiple lending entities.
• Liaise with external solicitors in relation to distressed loans and recovery proceedings.
• Review and improve internal credit control and arrears management processes.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping and adherence to relevant regulatory requirements.

About You:

• Essential: Proven experience in credit control, collections or arrears management within a lending business.
• Strong understanding of loan servicing, interest collections, borrower arrears and debt recovery processes.
• Previous experience within bridging finance, specialist mortgages, property finance, development finance or another lending environment.
• Demonstrable experience managing a substantial portfolio of live loan accounts.
• Confident conducting outbound collections calls, negotiating repayments and managing challenging borrower conversations.
