Senior HR Adviser – Schools
(permanent and fixed term contract positions)
Our Human Resources & Organisational Development Division is hiring
We’re entering an exciting new chapter. Following a recent restructure, we’re focused on redefining the way we grow and thrive - together.
We are looking to recruit Senior HR Advisers (x4), with a specific focus on schools. You will either be CIPD qualified/part qualified or have equivalent level of relevant HR experience.
Three roles will be on a permanent basis and one role on a fixed-term contract (2 years).
About The Role
You will act as the HR link officer, delivering effective, professional and customer-focussed HR advice and interventions to support the delivery of a group of schools’ aims and objectives, in line with Royal Borough of Greenwich (RBG) requirements.
The Senior HR Adviser will be a key adviser to Headteachers and school-based managers and will support the HR Manager in providing high level operational and complex advice to Headteachers and Governing Bodies.
About You
Ideally, you will have worked and/or provided professional HR advice and intervention in a school or within the educational environment. You will have sound knowledge and understanding of best practice human resources management in industrial and employee relations coupled with a thorough understanding of the practical application of current and upcoming employment law.
You will have worked in a collaborative environment with managers, employees, and trades unions to achieve staffing-related service delivery improvements.
You will have significant experience in Employee Relations, and good knowledge and understanding of other HR areas (e.g. recruitment, learning and development, HR policy and HR systems) and how a joined-up approach is crucial in providing a seamless professional service.
Royal Greenwich is a great place to live and work. Benefiting from excellent transport links ranging from Crossrail to the Elizabeth line to the Uber boat, we’re one of the easiest boroughs to get to and navigate your way around.
