An inspiring SEN school for pupils with Social, Emotional Mental Health Needs are looking to recruit a nurturing and dynamic Primary Teacher who has a strong commitment to raising standards and who can promote a positive school culture. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping their new Key Stage 2 provision, teaching students in Years 5 and 6 within their Primary phase.

The post is full time, long term and with a view of becoming permanent for the right person.

You will be passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs, offering tailored support with a positive and inclusive approach, and managing behaviours within a structured learning environment to ensure that every learner can reach their potential. A strong subject knowledge of phonics and early reading would be an advantage.

All pupils have an EHCP and have experienced significant barriers to learning in mainstream education therefore, you will be a resilient teacher with a strong commitment to raising standards promoting a positive school culture.

You will have the opportunity to work within a dedicated and successful team positively impacting on the lives of some of the most vulnerable young people within the area through the school’s trauma-informed approach.

The Head of School is seeking a teacher who has:

  • An excellent teaching record.
  • Excellent knowledge of the curriculum
  • Experience in the use of restorative practices and effective behaviour management skills as well as good rapport with challenging pupils.
  • Ability to monitor and review through self-evaluation, report writing and a clear system of record keeping.
  • Ability to teach flexibly, innovatively and responsively in a challenging environment.
  • Evidence of ability to successfully manage and support pupils with SEMH/ASD and SpLD.
  • The ability to plan and deliver outstanding teaching and learning for both individuals and small groups with high quality outcomes for all pupils.

To be successful, you must have the following:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Relevant degree
  • DBS on the update service or be willing to undergo a new check
  • The right to work in the UK (we cannot offer sponsorship)
