Job Title: Primary Design Engineer – Substations Location: UK (Hybrid/On-site options available) Salary: Competitive + Benefits Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent We’re looking for experienced Primary Design Engineers to play a key role in delivering high-quality substation projects across the UK. • Lead the design and review of substation layouts, single-line diagrams, earthing, cabling, containment, and installation drawings.
• Conduct site surveys and collaborate with site teams.
• Produce design and equipment technical specifications.
• Ensure all designs meet safety, quality, and compliance standards.
• Deliver work on time and in line with project KPIs and client requirements.

Skills & Experience:

• HNC/HND in Engineering (Degree preferred).
• 4+ years of substation design experience .
• Proficiency in CAD tools and BIM environments.
• Strong understanding of HSE regulations and substation equipment standards (transformers, switchgear, earthing, lighting, etc.).
• IEng or CEng chartered status is desirable.
