Head of Equities - Testwood Partners - #1691693

The Head of Equity Internalisation will be responsible to lead and manage my clients Systematic Internaliser (SI) book for equity fractional trading. This individual will be responsible for analysing and optimising the internalisation of equity order flow from clients, ensuring regulatory compliance and Best Execution for clients while strategically optimising the P&L for the firm. The role requires a deep understanding of equity trading, internalisation mechanisms, risk management, and execution workflows. ensuring, operational efficiency, and business growth.

The role reports directly to the CEO of Europe and has a secondary dotted line to the Group Head of Product Development

Responsibilities:

• Internalisation Workflow Optimisation: Assess and enhance fractional order flow internalisation processes, including trading logic, order routing, execution strategies and liquidity management.
• P&L Optimisation: Optimise the P&L of the internalisation book, making adjustments to trading strategies to enhance revenue generation, within the firm’s risk and compliance framework.
• Risk & Compliance Oversight: Define and implement appropriate risk parameters, ensuring adherence to FCA regulations, internal risk frameworks and ensuring client trades are executed within the firm’s Order Execution Policy.
• Data Analysis & Performance Monitoring: Use data analytics to assess execution quality, liquidity trends, and market impact, providing actionable insights.
• Technology & Automation: Work closely with technology teams to enhance trading infrastructure, execution logic, and automation of fractional order processing.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with internal teams including trading, operations, risk, compliance, and technology to ensure smooth and effective execution.
• Market Research & Competitive Analysis: Stay up to date with market developments, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to ensure the firm remains ahead of industry trends.
  
  
  

Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience in business analysis within an equity trading environment, preferably involving Systematic Internalisers or internalisation of order flow.
• Experience working with algorithmic trading, order routing logic, and execution management systems.
• Familiarity with FCA regulatory requirements, including MiFID II, best execution, and pre/post-trade transparency.
• Strong understanding of equity markets, order execution, and liquidity management.
• Proven ability to manage P&L and optimise internalisation strategies.
• Data-driven mindset, with proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, or Excel.
• Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
