What makes this role exciting and challenging:

The Financial Reporting Accountant supports the Senior Financial Accountant and ensures the business is financially sound, has robust accounting and reporting processes, and delivers on its financial targets.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Reporting Accountant to join our small Financial Accounting team. The successful candidate will support the month-end close process, ensure the integrity of financial data, and contribute to accurate and timely internal and external reporting.

As part of your everyday responsibilities, you will:

  • Execute key month end processes, such as the preparation and posting of accrual and general accounting entries
  • Ensure all necessary accounting adjustments are made, and costs are appropriately captured and reported at month end
  • Responsible for analysing and posting entries re: large volumes of data to ensure appropriate monthly cost allocation and invoicing. Also includes validating data and liaising with colleagues to resolve discrepancies impacting financial reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly review pack ahead of month end close and provide variance analysis to help with the understanding of the financial performance
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data during the close process, identifying and correcting discrepancies where necessary
  • Support the Senior Financial Accountant in the preparation of the consolidated quarterly Group reporting ensuring compliance with accounting standards and the Group deadlines
  • Contribute to new ideas and ways to improve the month end reporting process
  • Perform reconciliations of all relevant balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, ensuring that all balances are fully validated
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual statutory financial statements
  • Support the Financial Accounting team with audit queries and provide supporting documentation as required
  • Prepare and update internal process documents in line with changes of the business needs


Requirements

Key qualifications for your success:

  • Qualified accountant with statutory reporting experience. Preferably, ACCA, ACA or equivalent qualification
  • Good financial accounting knowledge, audit experience and knowledge of IFRS
  • Pro-active, highly motivated/enthusiastic, analytically minded with effective communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft packages, specifically Microsoft Excel, and able to Analyse large data sets using pivot tables
  • Proactive in identifying issues and implementing practical solutions independently or In collaboration with others
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously, especially during month-end and reporting periods
  • Works well within a team environment, supporting colleagues and contributing to shared goals
