The team
The Sales & Marketing (“Direct Acquisition”) team comprises our Marketing, Sales and Acquitech (acquisition tech) teams. We are responsible for reaching and advertising to UK businesses of all shapes and sizes. We do this through paid and organic marketing channels as well as direct sales. We are an autonomous team with marketing, sales, software development, product, design, and data science team members.
Within Direct Acquisition, Acquitech is made up of Software Engineers, Data Scientists & Product thinkers, and powers customer acquisition at iwoca through data and technology. The team is responsible for building and maintaining the data infrastructure and machine learning models that power our acquisition channels – including Sales, Mail, Paid Search, SEO, and Paid Social.
The role
As Product Owner, you’ll be responsible for the Acquitech team together with our Tech Lead. You’ll work closely with our highly experienced sales & marketing teams to shape acquisition strategy, solve problems and unlock new opportunities for growth. We expect you to:

We expect to pay from £70,000 - £90,000 for this role. But, we’re open-minded, so definitely include your salary goals with your application. We routinely benchmark salaries against market rates, and run quarterly performance and salary reviews.

The role
As Product Owner, you’ll be responsible for the Acquitech team together with our Tech Lead. You’ll work closely with our highly experienced sales & marketing teams to shape acquisition strategy, solve problems and unlock new opportunities for growth. We expect you to:
- Become the go-to person for the systems and processes that power sales & marketing at iwoca. You’ll break down technical challenges into manageable components and facilitate problem-solving with subject-matter experts.
- Work closely with the Head of Direct Acquisition, team and channel leads to shape the roadmap and prioritisation for our data infrastructure and machine learning models, ensuring that Acquitech’s work aligns with business goals and achieves valuable commercial outcomes.
- Articulate your decisions around priority and strategy to a wide range of stakeholders, translating complex topics into clear, accessible language.
- Contribute interesting findings and experiment results with the business to impact wider strategy.
- Be the first point of contact and responsible for fact-finding when things go wrong. You’ll also ensure the quality of delivery by following up post-release to proactively find bugs etc.
Essential:
- Strong data literacy and problem-solving skills.
- Experience as a Product Owner or similar role in product management.
- Ability to manage and supervise projects end-to-end and be accountable for their outcomes.
- Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs and evaluate new ideas with internal and external partners.
- Excellent communication skills, you tailor your communication style and the technical detail according to your audience.
- Experience with SQL, Python, or other programming languages.
- Experience with financial products or fintech.
- A strong numerical or technical background.
- Familiarity with data pipelines, ETL concepts, and database architectures.
- Experience with analytics tools such as Looker or Amplitude.
