Role Overview:

A full-time Yard Operative position is available at a busy builders’ merchant branch in West Hampstead. The role plays a vital part in supporting daily yard operations by maintaining safety, efficiency, and organisation in a fast-paced, outdoor setting.

Essential Requirements:

• Valid counterbalance forklift licence

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a builders’ merchant environment

• Strong teamworking ability with the initiative to work independently

• Comfortable working outdoors in a physically demanding role

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Good understanding of health and safety procedures

• Previous yard or warehouse experience (preferred)

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely load and unload materials using a forklift

• Keep the yard clean, well-organised, and properly stocked

• Assist customers with loading and offer basic product guidance

• Adhere to all health and safety regulations

• Conduct vehicle checks and report any maintenance issues

• Support with deliveries and general yard operations

• Perform manual handling and other related yard duties
