Day Rate: Via Umbrella
Contract: 6 months (with strong potential for extension)
Location: London Liverpool Street EC2M 2AT
Hybrid Working: 3 days in the office 2 days from home


Overview


This role supports a Tier 1 Japanese banking group with significant operations in London. The position involves oversight of cross-entity services, regulatory alignment, and internal governance responsibilities, with exposure to global markets and APAC stakeholders.


An exciting opportunity to join a high-performing Global Markets team as a Chief or Senior Data Analyst. This role will lead the data strategy and play a key part in transforming the data landscape within the business.


Key Responsibilities




  • Define and deliver a comprehensive data strategy

  • Establish and maintain data governance processes

  • Collaborate with technology and business teams to build scalable data architecture

  • Leverage AI to drive speed and cost efficiency


Key work:




  • Migrate procedures from legacy systems such as Lotus Notes to Confluence and SharePoint

  • Build automated approval workflows

  • Create a centralised trader mandate database with appropriate controls

  • Automate the Supervisory Sign Off process and integrate database solutions

  • Build a comprehensive Trading Venue database

  • Automate Sales and Trading reports including cost profitability and control performance

  • Standardise controls by creating purpose-built databases

  • Post governance phase contribute to revenue-generating initiatives such as sales reporting tools CRM solutions and desk utilities for sales and trading teams

  • In house development approach preferred over third-party vendor tools

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies regulatory requirements and governance frameworks

  • Provide oversight and support to team members in line with business objectives

  • Identify and support training and development needs across the team
