Site Engineer Central London £35,000 - £45,000 per annum plus travel allowance Permanent An established civil engineering subcontractor delivering high-profile projects across Central London is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join their growing team. Focused on S278 works, paving, and hard landscaping, they work on complex public realm and streetscape schemes. As a Site Engineer, you'll oversee setting-out and daily engineering tasks, ensuring quality, programme, and safety standards. The ideal Site Engineer will be confident working in tight, city centre environments with logistical constraints. Key Responsibilities: ·Carry out precise setting out and surveying for S278 works, paving, and hard landscaping packages. ·Interpret technical drawings and liaise with design and commercial teams. ·Maintain and update QA records, including ITPs, check sheets, and as-builts. ·Support the Site Manager in planning, sequencing, and coordinating subcontractors. ·Manage and track materials, plant, and engineering consumables on-site. ·Conduct site checks to ensure health and safety standards are upheld. ·Represent the Site Engineer function in daily briefings and subcontractor meetings. ·Work collaboratively with other Site Engineers to ensure consistent standards across the project. Requirements: ·Proven experience as a Site Engineer in civil engineering, particularly within S278 or urban paving projects. ·Familiarity with hard landscaping, kerbing, drainage, and roadworks ·Strong knowledge of construction tolerances and QA documentation. ·Proficient in using instruments such as robotic total stations and levels. ·Ability to work in fast-paced, high-traffic areas under tight programmes. Desirable: ·Prior experience as a Site Engineer with subcontractors on complex inner-city schemes. ·SSSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications. ·Strong communication and team coordination skills.
