TEXO Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a specialist Principal Contractor and Principal Designer delivering recladding and façade remediation projects as part of the UK Building Safety Unit framework. With a focus on safety, technical delivery, and innovation, this is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking contractor working with tier-one housing associations across London and the South East.

Role Overview

We are seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Junior Estimator (or Assistant Estimator with some cladding experience) to support the pricing and tendering of high-profile recladding and façade refurbishment projects. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their estimating career who is looking to develop specialist expertise in a fast-growing sector, while being supported by an experienced commercial team.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in preparing cost estimates and pricing documents for cladding and façade packages

Conduct quantity take-offs from architectural and structural drawings

Help review and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations

Identify basic commercial risks and opportunities under guidance

Support the preparation of tenders in line with framework and client requirements

Attend site visits and meetings to build understanding of project scope

Maintain and update pricing data, libraries, and historical cost records

Contribute to internal value engineering and cost review discussions

What We’re Looking For

1-3 years of experience in construction estimating, ideally with exposure to cladding, façades, or external envelope works

Comfortable reading and interpreting technical drawings and tender documents

Strong Excel skills; familiarity with digital take-off software is a plus (Bluebeam or similar)

A proactive mindset, with good attention to detail and a willingness to learn

Excellent communication skills and ability to work to deadlines

Enthusiasm for developing a long-term career within a specialist contractor

Desirable

HNC/HND or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field

Awareness of UK building safety legislation and façade remediation standards

Experience working with housing associations or public-sector frameworks

What’s on Offer

Competitive salary (dependent on experience and progression potential)

Ongoing training and development with a clear path for career growth

Opportunity to work on technically complex, high-impact projects

A collaborative and supportive team environment
