We have an excellent reputation for the quality of our work, particularly in serious injury and clinical negligence, employment, and tax. • Assisting barristers to court with their papers, ensuring timely arrival and that all materials are complete and in order.
  • Responding quickly and professionally to requests from barristers and clerks, often to tight deadlines.

Post and reception duties

  • Managing the incoming and outgoing post, including sorting, distributing and arranging deliveries and collections.
  • Providing reception cover when required, welcoming clients and visitors, creating meeting links and handling enquiries and maintaining a professional front-of-house presence.

Facilities and office support

  • Carrying out daily facilities checks and tasks, including organising recycling, checking and replenishing copiers and reporting any issues.
  • Supporting the smooth running of chambers’ premises by liaising with colleagues and external suppliers where necessary.
  • Assisting with general office duties to ensure an efficient and well-presented working environment.

Team support and collaboration

  • Working closely with the clerking team, members of chambers and business services staff to provide consistent, high-quality support.
  • Contributing to a positive and cooperative team culture, sharing information and assisting colleagues as needed.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications Required:

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A–C (or equivalent), including Maths and English.

Experience

  • Previous experience in barristers’ chambers or other professional services environments is beneficial but not essential, provided you can demonstrate an equivalent skill set.
  • Experience in administrative, customer-facing or facilities roles will be advantageous.

Skills and attributes

  • First-rate communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with barristers, colleagues, clients and court staff.
  • Excellent attention to detail and diligence in handling documents, managing tasks and following procedures.
  • Strong people skills; articulate, client-friendly and able to build rapport with a wide range of contacts.
  • A focused and proactive approach, with the ability to prioritise, manage time effectively and remain calm under pressure.
