We are seeking an experienced Senior Category Manager to join a dynamic procurement and commercial team, leading the delivery of high-value construction, regeneration, housing development, and capital works procurements.

This is a strategic yet hands-on role where you will provide expert procurement and commercial leadership across a diverse portfolio of construction projects. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will lead end-to-end procurement activity, manage complex tender processes, develop commercial strategies, and ensure contracts deliver value, quality, and successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement category and procurement strategies aligned to business objectives.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement processes from market engagement through to contract award and mobilisation.
  • Produce and oversee tender documentation, specifications, evaluation criteria, and contract terms.
  • Provide commercial advice and procurement guidance to project teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Lead supplier negotiations and support effective contract management throughout delivery.
  • Develop procurement project plans ensuring compliance with legislation, governance, programme deadlines, and budget requirements.
  • Manage procurement risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimise commercial and legal exposure.
  • Promote sustainable procurement, social value, and responsible sourcing principles.
