An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Design Coordinator to join a growing construction and façade design team on a remote basis. This role is responsible for managing and coordinating the delivery of design information across multiple projects, ensuring programmes, resources, consultants, approvals, and deliverables are effectively planned and controlled.

The successful candidate will act as the primary coordinator of design activities, driving collaboration between internal teams, external consultants, and key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design Delivery Management
  • Manage design information across multiple live projects.
  • Develop and maintain Information Release Schedules (IRS).
  • Coordinate design programmes, deliverables, and resources.
  • Forecast future resource requirements.
  • Manage information flow between internal and external design teams.
Design Team Management
  • Coordinate workloads across internal design teams.
  • Monitor external consultant performance.
  • Track design progress and productivity.
  • Resolve resource conflicts and prioritise workloads
Client & Consultant Coordination
  • Lead design meetings with clients and consultants.
  • Coordinate façade consultants and specialist engineering disciplines.
  • Manage design approvals and technical submissions.
  • Ensure stakeholder requirements are effectively communicated and delivered.
Design Governance
  • Maintain design risk registers.
  • Manage design change control processes.
  • Oversee Building Safety Act and Gateway information requirements where applicable.
  • Ensure document control and compliance procedures are followed.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Produce design KPI and management reports.
  • Monitor programme performance and compliance.
  • Identify lessons learned and implement process improvements.
  • Support the development of efficient design workflows and coordination systems.
Essential Experience
  • Experience managing design activities within UK construction projects.
  • Experience coordinating multiple design teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong programme and project management skills.
  • Practical experience in building envelope/façade design using CAD and/or BIM software.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, British Standards, NHBC requirements, and façade performance criteria.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience managing external consultants.
  • Knowledge of the Building Safety Act and Gateway processes.
  • Design management or technical coordination experience.
  • Experience implementing design process improvements.

Qualifications
  • Degree or professional qualification in Design, Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
