Overview of the Reserving Actuarial Analyst role

Sellick Partnership is currently partnered with a leading organisation within the healthcare sector, who are looking to recruit a Reserving Actuarial Analyst into their growing actuarial function.

This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified actuary with strong reserving experience to join a team undergoing a significant period of transformation. You will play a key role in enhancing reserving processes, improving insight, and supporting business-wide decision making.

Key responsibilities of the Reserving Actuarial Analyst will include

  • Supporting the delivery of reserving reviews, including analysis, assumption setting and explaining key movements
  • Contributing to the development and transformation of reserving processes to improve accuracy, efficiency and insight
  • Working closely with actuarial, pricing, claims, finance and capital teams to deliver analysis that supports decision making
  • Ensuring data quality and integrity across actuarial processes, including reconciliation to source systems
  • Documenting methodologies, assumptions and processes clearly
  • Providing actuarial reserving insight to internal and external stakeholders

Required experience/qualifications of the Reserving Actuarial Analyst will include

  • Part-qualified actuary, making strong progress towards qualification
  • Significant reserving experience, gained within insurance or consultancy
  • Strong Excel skills, with knowledge of VBA and/or SQL desirable
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Confident communicator, able to present technical findings clearly
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholders and projects
