Harmonic Group Ltd

Finance Assistant (FTC) | High-Growth, VC-Backed Tech Scale-Up | London / Hybrid

The Client

Harmonic is delighted to be partnering with a fast-growing, VC-backed technology business operating at the cutting edge of its field. Fresh from a major funding round and expanding quickly across international markets, the company is entering an exciting new phase of scale, and its finance function is growing rapidly alongside it. This is a rare chance to gain hands-on experience inside one of the more innovative and ambitious technology businesses hiring in London right now.

The Role

Joining a close-knit finance team of four on a fixed-term contract until April 2027, the Finance Assistant will take ownership of a defined set of transactional finance processes from day one. This is a hands-on role at the heart of how a fast-scaling business runs day-to-day: expense management and bank reconciliations across multiple international entities, keeping records clean and audit-ready as volumes grow quickly. You will report to the finance lead, with day-to-day training and support from the wider team, and there is genuine scope to build and consolidate your skills at pace in a business where finance really matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and approve employee expense claims in line with policy across the group's international entities.
  • Reconcile receipts to card transactions and chase down any missing documentation.
  • Ensure expenses are correctly coded and compliant before they reach payment stage.
  • Perform regular bank account reconciliations across multiple entities and currencies.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly and accurately.
  • Keep financial records clean and audit-ready at all times.
  • Support the wider finance team with ad-hoc transactional tasks and process improvements as they arise.

Essential Experience

  • A degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related discipline, with strong academic results.
  • Highly organised, with a reliable approach to managing your own workload and deadlines.
  • Accurate and detail-oriented; you notice when something does not add up.
  • A proactive communicator who flags issues early rather than sitting on a problem.
  • A fast learner who is comfortable picking things up quickly in a high-growth environment.

Desirable Experience

  • Some prior experience in a finance, bookkeeping or accounting role, whether through an internship, placement or a first job in finance.
  • Experience with Xero or a similar accounting platform.

Package

Salary: £30,000-£35,000

Location: London, hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days from home)

Duration: Fixed-term contract to 30 April 2027, with potential to extend

Start Date: Mid-August, with some flexibility for the right person
