Radiographer / Senior Radiographer

EXO are recruiting experienced Radiographers and Senior Radiographers to join a range of leading NHS Trusts, private healthcare providers and specialist diagnostic organisations across the UK.

You will already deliver outstanding Diagnostic Imaging across Hospital, Community and/or Teleradiology Services

Whether you’re looking for a traditional hospital-based role, the flexibility of a mobile imaging service, or a home-based reporting opportunity, we have positions to suit your experience and career aspirations.

  • Senior Radiographer (Equivalent to NHS Band 6/7)
  • Reporting Radiographer (Advanced Practice)

Location

Opportunities are available throughout the UK. Specific hospital sites, regional territories or remote reporting arrangements will be discussed during the recruitment process.

Key Responsibilities

As a Radiographer, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, accurate and high-quality diagnostic imaging while providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities may include:

Producing high-quality diagnostic images across one or more imagingmodalities.

  • Delivering safe, compassionate and patient-focused care.
  • Ensuring accurate patient identification and compliance with imagingprotocols.
  • Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary clinical teams.
  • Maintaining excellent image quality while achieving efficient patient throughput.
  • Adhering to all radiation protection legislation, local procedures andprofessional standards.
  • Participating in quality assurance, equipment checks and serviceimprovement initiatives.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and imaging records.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Current and unrestricted HCPC registration.
  • Degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
  • Occupational Health clearance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commitment to patient safety and clinical excellence.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Non-Reporting Radiographer Requirements

Suitable candidates will demonstrate:

  • Technical Expertise
  • Competence in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging.
  • Experience in one or more of the following:o General X-rayo CTo MRIo Ultrasound (where appropriate)

Patient Care

  • Excellent communication with patients and clinical colleagues.
  • Compassionate, patient-centred approach.
  • Accurate patient identification and consent procedures.
  • Radiation Protection
  • Full compliance with IR(ME)R 2017.
  • Safe application of radiation protection principles.
  • Adherence to local imaging protocols and shieldingrequirements.

Equipment & Quality Assurance

  • Safe operation of imaging equipment.
  • Routine QA and equipment performance checks.
  • Prompt reporting of faults and equipment issues.

Reporting Radiographer (Advanced Practice)

Home-based Reporting Radiographers are also required to meet the following criteria. Essential Qualifications

Applicants must hold a recognised postgraduate qualification in Clinical Reporting, including a:

  • Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert)
  • Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip)

Recognised reporting pathways may include:

  • Appendicular Skeleton
  • Axial Skeleton
  • Chest Reporting
  • Abdomen Reporting
  • Other accredited image interpretation qualifications

Clinical Expertise

You will be expected to:

  • Independently interpret diagnostic imaging.
  • Produce accurate, timely and clinically robust diagnostic reports.
  • Exercise sound clinical judgement within your scope of practice.
  • Escalate urgent findings appropriately.

Clinical Governance

Applicants should demonstrate experience in:

  • Peer review.
  • Discrepancy meetings.
  • Clinical audit.
  • Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Quality improvement initiatives.

Working Environment Requirements

Hospital-Based Roles

Successful candidates should be comfortable working in fast-paced clinical environments and be able to:

  • Manage high patient volumes.
  • Support emergency and trauma imaging.
  • Participate in shift work, weekends and on-call rotas where required.

Mobile / Field-Based Roles

Applicants should be able to:

  • Travel independently across a designated region.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence (where required).
  • Operate safely within mobile imaging units.
  • Deliver excellent patient care in community settings.

Home-Based Reporting Roles

Reporting Radiographers must have:

  • A secure and confidential home working environment.
  • Suitable ergonomic workstation setup.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connectivity.
  • Compliance with NHS and private sector information governance andcyber security requirements.
