Azure Platform Engineer – 3-month contract – Fully remote

My Client is looking for an experienced Azure Platform Engineer to support the design and build of a new Azure platform, including Azure VMware Solution (AVS) and hybrid infrastructure.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work from technical designs and specifications through to implementation, with a strong focus on Azure infrastructure, networking, IAM and Infrastructure as Code.

The Azure Platform Engineer can work fully remote

Skills required from the Azure Platform Engineer:

• Strong hands-on Azure platform engineering experience.
• Experience working from technical designs/specifications to build Azure infrastructure.
• Strong Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Azure VMWare Solution (AVS)
• Strong Azure Networking experience including ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, VNets and routing.
• Azure IAM experience including Managed Identities, RBAC, permissions and custom roles.
• Azure architecture and platform design experience.
• Experience with AVS and VMware (ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, NSX) would be beneficial.
• PowerShell and/or Azure CLI.
• Experience with Omnissa Horizon or AVD would be beneficial.

Key responsibilities of the Azure Platform Engineer:

• Design and build Azure infrastructure from technical specifications.
• Deploy Azure infrastructure using Terraform.
• Configure Azure networking, connectivity and security.
• Implement Azure IAM and permissions.
• Support the deployment and integration of AVS and VMware workloads.
• Work closely with architects and technical stakeholders to deliver the platform.
• Produce technical documentation and support troubleshooting.
