This is an opportunity to join a collaborative investment environment where you'll gain exposure to the full trade lifecycle, work closely with experienced traders and portfolio managers, and contribute directly to investment decisions across global commodities markets.

The commodities platform spans a broad range of products including Power, Natural Gas, Crude Oil, Refined Products, Metals and other global commodity markets.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting ad hoc market research and analysis driven by commodity market fundamentals.
  • Building, maintaining, and enhancing quantitative models and analytical tools.
  • Evaluating market data, datasets, and existing models to identify opportunities and improve forecasting.
  • Analysing supply and demand dynamics, pricing relationships, and macroeconomic drivers across commodity markets.
  • Supporting traders and portfolio managers with timely market insights and analytics.
  • Assisting in the generation and evaluation of trading ideas.
  • Developing scalable Python-based tools to improve research and trading workflows.
Requirements
  • Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
  • Graduate with relevant commodities internship experience, or up to 2 years' experience in a commodities-focused research, analytics or trading role.
  • Demonstrable Python programming skills are essential.
  • Experience with additional programming languages (e.g. SQL, C++, R, MATLAB or Julia) would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
  • Interest in financial markets and commodity trading, with a genuine curiosity for global energy and commodity fundamentals.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
What's on Offer
  • Opportunity to join a globally recognised hedge fund during an exciting phase of expansion.
  • Direct exposure to experienced traders, portfolio managers, and researchers.
  • Collaborative, meritocratic culture with significant learning and development opportunities.
  • Broad exposure across multiple commodity markets including Power, Gas, Crude, and Metals.
  • Market-facing role with the opportunity to contribute directly to investment and trading decisions.
  • Competitive compensation and excellent long-term career progression.
