Senior Associate

cer Financial are working alongside a financial services firm, who are based in London. They are seeking a Senior Associate to work with them on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and manage a portfolio of infrastructure and energy debt investments.
  2. Conduct regular credit risk analysis, including financial, operational, regulatory, market, and country risk assessments.
  3. Prepare annual credit reviews, waiver requests, amendments, and internal credit papers.
  4. Update and review financial and cash flow models, including downside and stress-testing scenarios.
  5. Assign and maintain internal credit ratings.
  6. Monitor loan covenants, conditions, and key deadlines, ensuring accurate record keeping.
  7. Analyse borrower reports, drawdown requests, and financial, legal, and technical documentation.
  8. Negotiate waivers, restructurings, early repayments, and amendments with borrowers, agents, and legal advisers.
  9. Attend borrower meetings and site visits when required.
  10. Maintain complete and compliant electronic credit files.
  11. Produce portfolio reports, watchlists, and reporting for clients, auditors, and senior management.
  12. Collaborate with internal teams and provide guidance to junior colleagues.
  13. Support new business development, proposals, presentations, and onboarding of new client portfolios.
  14. Ensure compliance with client requirements and regulatory standards.

The successful candidate will have:

  1. Proven experience in credit risk, asset management, or project finance.
  2. Strong background in infrastructure and/or energy project finance.
  3. Experience monitoring and managing loan portfolios.
  4. Experience in client-facing environments and presenting to senior stakeholders or credit committees.
  5. Strong understanding of project finance and corporate finance.
  6. Excellent credit analysis and risk assessment skills.
  7. Ability to analyse complex financial models and financing structures.
  8. Experience reviewing legal and loan documentation.
  9. Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  10. Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
  11. Bachelor's degree (preferably with honours) in a relevant subject.
  12. Postgraduate qualification is desirable.
  13. Professional banking or finance qualifications.
