Registration Officer

We are seeking an organised and customer-focused Registration Officer to support applicants and members throughout the registration lifecycle.

Salary: £31,000 per year
Location: Hybrid working, home and London office, with monthly office attendance
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week, 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent
Closing date: 24 August (we reserve the right to close the role early should a suitable candidate be found)
Interviews: Online interviews during the week commencing 24 August, followed by in-person interviews during the week commencing 31 August

About the role

As Registration Officer, you will support members, applicants and members of the public by responding to enquiries and administering key registration and membership processes. You will play an important role in ensuring the register remains accurate, up to date and reflective of professional standards.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will help deliver an excellent member experience while contributing to the smooth running of registration and renewal activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing applications, renewals, membership updates and exits accurately and efficiently
  • Maintaining accurate member and registration records
  • Responding to enquiries by email, telephone and other channels
  • Applying policies, procedures and guidance consistently and fairly
  • Producing reports and supporting data quality activities
  • Administering renewal reminders, certificates and lapsed memberships
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and service delivery
  • Supporting the delivery of a positive member experience across the registration lifecycle

About you

You will enjoy working in a structured environment and be able to balance excellent customer service with the need to follow procedures accurately.

You will bring:

  • Experience providing high-quality administrative support in a professional, regulatory, service delivery or customer-focused environment
  • Experience administering registration, accreditation, certification, renewal, enrolment or similar processes
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and take ownership of enquiries through to resolution
  • Confidence interpreting and applying policies, procedures and guidance
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records
  • A proactive approach to learning, problem solving and continuous improvement

Experience within a membership body, professional association, regulator, charity or similar organisation would be advantageous but is not essential.

The organisation is a leading professional body for psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. It represents training organisations and more than 8,000 individual therapists working privately, within the NHS and across the voluntary sector.
