Associate Director - Value Creation - #2120858

Date: 3 days ago
City: London
Contract type: Full time
Work schedule: Full day
A leading global advisory and consulting network, spanning more than 100 countries and tens of thousands of professionals, is looking for an Associate Director to help lead its Value Creation team.
This isn't a diligence-and-done kind of team. It works on what actually happens inside a deal: carve-outs and separations, synergy assessments, integrations, and the value creation work that happens long after signing. Clients come back to this team because it stays close to them through the deal and beyond, acting as a genuine transformation partner rather than a one-off advisor. That's part of why the practice is growing, and why it now needs someone to help lead its next stage.
The role
You'll work across corporate and private equity clients in financial services - specialist lending, insurance (carriers and brokers), and investment management - on deals ranging from owner-managed business sales to multi-billion-pound mergers. In practice, that means:
Owning client relationships end-to-end, from leading meetings and workshops to taking real accountability for delivery
Cutting through complex, often ambiguous information to identify what actually matters and shape the right solution
Building and running teams, and genuinely enjoying doing it
Developing new business through proposals, pitches, and your own network, while raising the profile of the practice internally
Coaching more junior colleagues and taking an active role in their development
Supporting Directors and Partners in running the team day to day, including project budgets and cost control
What you'll bring
Significant experience across at least two of: carve-outs/separations, synergy assessments, integrations, operational due diligence, or post-deal value creation
Sector depth in at least one of specialist lending, insurance, or investment management (retail banking experience considered alongside one of these)
A track record of leading teams through complex, fast-moving work
A background in professional services or a similarly advisory-driven environment, with strong report writing, Excel, and presentation skills
Sharp analytical thinking and excellent written and verbal communication
Experience with project, change, or transformation management
Why this one's worth a conversation
Genuine flexibility, including reduced hours and job shares that are actively supported, not just tolerated on paper
Direct access to Partners and Directors from day one, not years into the role
A global network behind you, including specialist colleagues across IT, HR, Finance, and Operations
A culture that backs up its language on inclusion: this is a team that wants your whole self at work, not a version of it
