Contract, Social Account Director - #2121889

We're looking for an experienced Freelance Social Account Director to support a busy agency team across a range of social-first and integrated client accounts.

This role would suit someone who is confident leading client relationships, overseeing social strategy and delivery, and managing teams across fast-paced campaigns and always-on content.

• Lead day-to-day client relationships across social accounts

• Provide strategic direction across always-on and campaign-led social activity

• Oversee social content planning, production and delivery across key platforms

• Translate client briefs into clear social strategies and actionable plans

• Work closely with strategy, creative, influencer, production and paid social teams

• Lead campaign planning, timelines, budgets and resource requirements

• Manage and mentor Account Managers, Executives and wider account teams

• Oversee content calendars, community activity and approval processes

• Ensure work is delivered on time, within budget and to a high creative standard

• Identify opportunities to grow accounts and expand scopes of work

• Lead client presentations, status meetings and senior stakeholder conversations

• Support reporting, campaign evaluation and optimisation recommendations

• Stay up to date with social platforms, trends, formats and emerging behaviours

• Support new business and pitch work where required

• Strong experience within social media, digital or integrated marketing, ideally within an agency environment

• Proven experience operating at Account Director level or equivalent

• Experience managing large or complex client accounts

• Strong understanding of major social platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook and emerging channels

• Confident managing senior clients and internal stakeholders

• Experience overseeing social strategy, content production and campaign delivery

• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and scopes

• Experience leading and developing account teams

• Comfortable working across multiple projects and priorities at pace

• Strong understanding of social culture, platform best practice and audience behaviour

You'll be a confident, commercially minded social specialist who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on account leadership. You should be comfortable challenging clients, guiding teams and keeping complex social campaigns moving while protecting the quality of the work.
