Commercial Sales Manager - #2122028

This is a sales management role for a dealmaker, not a KPI manager.

Our client operates in the fast-moving world of commercial partnerships, connecting major brands with high-profile opportunities across professional sport.

They have an established and successful sales team and are now looking for a Commercial Sales Manager to help take things to the next level.

The team know how to open doors, develop opportunities and build relationships.

Your job is to help them get the big deals over the line.

You'll lead from the front, getting involved when opportunities become larger, more complex or simply need some commercial creativity to make them happen.

That could mean helping shape the proposition, working out what will make a deal stack up, joining senior-level negotiations or finding a different route when a potential agreement stalls.

It needs someone with a bit of a trader mentality. Commercially sharp, comfortable negotiating significant deals and instinctively looking for the angle that works for both sides.

• Managing and supporting an established B2B sales team
• Getting directly involved in larger and higher-value opportunities
• Helping salespeople develop, structure and close complex deals
• Joining negotiations with senior commercial decision-makers
• Challenging how opportunities are approached and progressed
• Coaching the team and improving their commercial effectiveness
• Identifying where additional value can be created within a deal
• Providing leadership without burying good salespeople in unnecessary process

You'll already have experience managing a successful B2B sales team.

Just as importantly, you'll be someone who loves the commercial side of selling.

You'll understand negotiation. You'll know when to push and when to compromise. You'll be comfortable getting into the detail of a deal and finding a way to make it work.

You'll need:

• Proven sales management experience
• A strong track record in complex B2B sales
• Excellent negotiation and closing skills
• Experience dealing with senior-level decision-makers
• Strong commercial judgement
• A genuine interest in sport
• The confidence to lead experienced salespeople without micromanaging them
