Octavius Finance is partnering with a highly regarded boutique asset manager to identify a Global Equity Analyst to join an established and successful income-focused investment strategy.
The strategy invests across global equity markets , with a broad remit spanning the US, Europe, UK and Emerging Markets . The investment team takes a genuinely generalist, fundamental approach , combining bottom-up company analysis with thematic research to identify attractive long-term investment opportunities.
This is an excellent opportunity for a high-quality buy-side equity analyst to join a lean investment platform, work closely with experienced portfolio managers and contribute meaningfully to the investment process. The role offers excellent career progression, with the successful candidate being offered a clearly defined pathway to money-management.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
- Conduct fundamental research across a broad range of global companies and sectors.
- Undertake thematic research , assessing structural trends and their implications for companies and industries.
- Identify attractive investment opportunities across the US, Europe, UK and Emerging Markets .
- Build detailed financial models and undertake valuation and company analysis.
- Contribute to stock selection and the wider portfolio construction process.
- Develop and present investment ideas to the investment team.
Requirements
Our client is seeking an ambitious and intellectually curious equity investor with 3–8 years of experience and a strong track record of fundamental research.
Candidates should have:
- Buy-side equity investment experience within either a traditional asset manager / long-only environment or a long/short equity hedge fund .
- A broad, generalist investment background , rather than highly specialised sector coverage.
- Experience analysing companies across multiple sectors and, ideally, multiple geographies.
- Strong fundamental research, financial modelling and valuation skills.
- A genuine interest in global equity markets and the ability to develop differentiated investment views.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative, entrepreneurial approach and the ability to operate effectively within a lean investment team.
Candidates with experience conducting thematic or thematic-driven equity research are particularly encouraged to apply.
